Medals are always something to be proud of, but what makes me the proudest is the heart, grit, and growth each of my runners show every day. Every single one of them earned a PR this weekend, and that is truly worth celebrating, great job at the Lexington Showdown!

The Lion's Eye, alongside Yearbook and Graphic Design, will be hosting Fall Varsity Sports players/runners for a GHS Media Day on Saturday, September 20, starting @ 8:00 am.
Media Day is an opportunity for our student-athletes to have professional photos taken in full uniform (free of charge). It is also a chance for our AV Production, Yearbook, and Graphic Design students to get experience in running a professional photo shoot. As a reminder, this event is completely optional for our Varsity student-athletes, but we would appreciate as many players as possible coming out and contributing to this experience for our AV/YB/GD classes.

The Lions middle school and jv teams took two victories tonight in the Lions Den! The middle school won 42-34 in an offensive heavy game. The jv won 42-12 in another great game. Go Lions!

The JH Lady Lion Volleyball teams took on the Holland Hornets tonight. All three teams fought hard for a win, but ultimately came up short. They are back in action in the Lions Den on Monday, 9/15.

This Week’s Pep Rally will be on Friday, September 12 @ 1:46 PM in the Competition Gym, 301 N. Colorado. This weeks theme is White Out the Hornets—so wear you white to show your Lion pride! To help us keep student & staff safety a top priority, please complete this form if you plan on attending: Pep Rally Check In Form Visitor badges will be pre-printed Thursday afternoon for anyone who has already scanned their valid Texas driver’s license into our Raptor System. Pre-printed badges may be picked up 15 minutes prior to the pep rally at the event location. If you have not had your ID scanned, please stop by any GISD office this week prior to the pep rally to have your ID scanned. Office Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:45 AM–4:00 PM After school ends Thursday, the form will no longer be monitored. At that point, visitors will need to check in at any campus office. High School competed at the 1st Annual Granger Lake Chase this morning! These athletes got better once again! Week to week the results are getting better and better! Varsity girls team place, 3rd! Varsity boys team place, 4th!

Junior High competed for the first time this year at the 1st Annual Granger Lake Chase! These runners have worked hard everyday at practice and their times prove it! JUNIOR HIGH BOYS finished 2nd as a team over all! Luke Tucker finished 2nd and Brynley Huber finished 7th Congrats
