To help fight the fentanyl problem, there are things we can all do like: Talk to your children. Tell them that ANY pill they get from a friend or purchased online or off of the street could be a counterfeit pill containing fentanyl. Only take medication that was prescribed by a doctor, purchased at a pharmacy, and approved by parents or guardians. Here is a guide to different emojis that are used to communicate about illicit drugs.

Last week, our Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) participated in a medical/hold drill. This drill includes responding to an "incident", assessing the situation and providing life saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR. The purpose of this drill is to improve response time for providing assistance and CPR. Several members of our team practiced cardiac compressions, mask-to-mouth breathing and practiced the use of an AED. AED stands for Automatic External Defibrillator. Currently Granger ISD has 6 stationary AEDs and 2 travel AEDs. If you or a loved one would like to learn more about CPR or take a CPR class please contact the Williamson County EMS for classes in the area. https://www.wilcotx.gov/335/CPR-Training.

Fentanyl is a man-made, Schedule II narcotic that has reached a growing number of communities of all sizes across Texas and has impacted so many lives. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), within the last two years, teen overdose deaths related to Fentanyl have tripled. Over half of all overdose deaths are related to Fentanyl use. Death from Fentanyl overdose happens when the respiratory system slows, or not enough oxygen gets to the brain. Educate yourself about the risks and signs of fentanyl use and have conversations with your kids about the dangers of this deadly opioid. Your awareness can make all the difference.

The sophomore class hosted a very successful volleyball tournament today.
Big shout out to all the teams that came and played! We're so thankful for your support.
We're proud to announce the winning team was Spiked by Riches; they fought hard for the win.
Again, thank you to the teams for your donations, parents for helping out, sophomores for working the games and concession stand, and class sponsors for organizing the fundraiser. It was a big team effort! We hope to see y'all next year!
